We only collect the technical data necessary to provide security features and manage Your Account.
Our privacy architecture is designed around the principle of "Privacy by Design," ensuring that Your digital footprint remains as minimum as possible, while maintaining maximum protection.
International transfer of data: Your information, including personal data, may be transferred to-and maintained on-computers located outside of Your state or country where data protection laws may differ. As We use Google Services, Your data may be processed in the United States (US). We ensure that such transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
A. Account Information (Authentication)
To access the Service, mandatory authentication via Google Sign-In is required. We receive the following from Google:
Basic profile info: Your name, public photo, email address. Purposes - to create your unique "Account", track your Lookup quota, manage Subscription tiers:
Authentication: Verifying Your identity to prevent unauthorized access to Your security settings.
Quota qanagement: Tracking usage to ensure the stability of Our threat intelligence API (Application Programming Interface) by preventing system abuse and managing technical rate limits.
Managing subscriptions: To accurately assign and maintain Your access level (Free Plan vs. paid Subscription). This allows Us to synchronize Your "Unlimited" features across multiple Devices where You are signed into the same Account and to provide a seamless transition during Subscription renewals or tier upgrades.
Notes: All login processes are handled externally by Google. Opnico Ltd never sees or stores Your Google password.
Your authentication token is used strictly to maintain Your session and validate Your right to access the Service's cloud-based threat intelligence.
B. Security Data (Local processing vs. Cloud)
The core of protection involves analyzing content to find Threats.
Local processing: The App analyzes screen content (Android) and network requests (iOS) on Your Device.
Hash prefixes: To verify a threat without compromising privacy, the App generates a SHA-256 hash of a suspicious element (URL). We only send a partial hash (prefix) to Our servers to check against our threat intelligence database.
This prevents Us from knowing exactly what You are looking at while still keeping You safe.
C. Usage Metrics
We collect aggregate, non-identifiable numerical data:
Total number of security Checks performed.
Remaining Lookup quota for Your account.
App performance logs (crashes and latency) via third-party tools.
To provide its core security functionality, App utilizes the Android Accessibility Service. This allows the App to monitor screen content in real-time to protect you from digital threats.
How we use it: The Opnico SafeSurf accessibility service is used to read URLs and text elements displayed on your screen. This is necessary to identify phishing attempts, malicious links, and social engineering content within third-party applications (like browsers or messaging apps).
Data privacy and processing (n accordance with Google Play's User Data policies):
Data collection: We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal or sensitive information via this Android Accessibility Service.
On-device Analysis: All content read by the Android Accessibility Service is processed locally on Your device.
Hash-based verification: Only partial hash (SHA-256) parts (prefixes) of identified URLs are sent to our infrastructure for threat verification, ensuring We never know the specific content or websites (URLs) You are interacting.
User consent: Opnico SafeSurf accessibility service is disabled by default. Prominent disclosure within the App will be presented before being asked to enable this permission in Your Android settings. You may revoke this permission by yourself at any time.
Service persistence (technical information): Please be aware that Opnico SafeSurf is categorized as a Security Utility, not a dedicated Accessibility Tool (assistive technology). Consequently, the Android operating system's resource management or battery optimization may occasionally terminate (stop) Android Accessibility Service. If You notice a lapse in real-time protection, You may need to manually restart (re-enable) the service or exclude the App from "Battery Optimization" in Your Device settings.
To operate the App efficiently while minimizing data exposure, We limit the information We collect to the following categories:
Account information: When You authenticate via Google Sign-In, We receive basic profile information such as Your name and email address from Google. Authentication is handled by Google in accordance with its own privacy practices.
Usage metrics: We collect limited usage data in the form of aggregate numerical values, such as the total number of security checks performed and the remaining lookup quota associated with Your Account.
Device context (processed locally): The App analyzes screen content or network requests locally on Your Device for the purpose of identifying potential threats. This information is processed on-device and is not transmitted to Our servers.
To protect Your digital activity while still identifying malicious threats, the App utilizes a specialized verification method.
Hashes: When the App identifies a website URL, it generates a SHA-256 hash locally on Your Device. These hashes act as unique digital "fingerprints" and are one-way representations (cannot be reversed); they are mathematically designed so that the original data (the raw URL or content) cannot be derived or reconstructed from the hash.
Prefix transmission: To further ensure Your privacy, We do not transmit the full hash to Our servers. The App sends only a partial hash (prefix) to Our threat intelligence infrastructure.
Zero data risk: By sending only a fragment of a one-way hash, it becomes computationally impossible for Opnico Ltd or any third party to identify the specific content You were accessing. This architecture allows Us to know if a website URL is a known Threat without ever knowing which website You visited. This "k-Anonymity" approach ensures there is no risk to Your personal data during the scanning process.
Age requirements: By using the Service, You represent that You are at least 18 years of age or the age of legal majority in Your jurisdiction. If You are under 18, You may only use the Service with the involvement and explicit consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Children privacy: Our Service is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions within the EU/EEA). We do NOT knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If We discover that a child has provided Us with personal data without parental consent, We will delete that information immediately from Our servers. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with personal data, please contact Us.

Comprehensive device privacy: This prohibition extends to any kind of personal device data that could be used to reconstruct Your private digital life, including contact lists, gallery metadata, or specific application usage logs. Our infrastructure is intentionally engineered to be "content-blind," ensuring that the granular details of Your personal and professional interactions remain exclusively on Your physical hardware and under Your absolute control.

Your digital safety is our top priority, and Opnico SafeSurf provides a robust, supplemental layer of protection for your daily browsing. However, even the most advanced security tools cannot anticipate every risk on the Internet. We provide this service on an "as-is" basis, meaning we cannot guarantee complete immunity from cyber threats and are not liable for any damages or losses that may occur despite your use of the app.
To stay ahead of bad actors, our threat database is updated every single hour. Because we analyze risks in real-time against our global intelligence infrastructure, a stable Internet connection is required on your device to perform a successful online lookup.
